I don't know how I feel about hardcore in a Battlefield game. Sure it is great for Call of Duty, but having playing Battlefield with normal settings I like it. If in hardcore everyone is playing recon....bad things. Also not being able to join squads while dead has been a problem since Battlefield 2 and they still haven't fixed it. Death chat isn't a glitch, its been like that in all of the games. The maps are too big for a dead guy to thoroughly explain where the enemy is that killed him. It isn't like SnD, you can respawn. But the rest of those problems I believe definitely need to be fixed before the release, not that I have experienced too many of them.
So interesting test.....One of the more difficult things that I have been having is actually seeing people extremely easily. I have had everything on max settings with AA=8 and AF=16 and things look fantastic with great FPS (although I cant tell what my FPS has been since I cant pull it up). Was having a few water and window glitchy things, but the new ATI drivers released last week fixed those.Anyway, because of all the constant non-stop effects, i decided to try out low settings. And wow, even though it obviously doesn't look near as good, it gets rid of all the particle effect clutter. Believe it or not, i scored 1st placed on the first game i tried it. Every game before this one I was like 4-15....haha

And at least 3-4 shotty shots unless you are point blank. Even at point blank, it is a MINIMUM 2 blasts. Hell, the next sniper gun after the standard is so bad, I hit someone 4 times with it in a row, and they didnt drop. Once we get a hardcore server up, I wont touch a stock one.
I just played in my first hardcore server tonight, and many of you will be pleased to hear that the gameplay is much more realistic. Only needed to put 3-4 bullets into a person before they die. One shot sniper rifle kills. The game for some reason played much smoother on my computer and it was a full server. You have no map, the health regen I noticed is MUCH MUCH slower (if it even regens at all), and teamwork is MUCH more needed in order to win. When in vehicles you can't see your health, and with the UAV you can't see your crosshair (didn't get a chance to get into the apache). I enjoy the game a lot without hardcore, but it was a real treat to be able to try it out.Look for servers under the browser that say HARDCORE in the name *most of them have it in the end*.Have fun fragging
